Description
A fence semi-trailer is an open-sided trailer: a steel deck with fencing above it. That open structure is the point – air moves through the load, which matters for livestock and for fresh produce that would otherwise sit in a closed box.
This unit measures 13,000 x 2,500 x 3,950 mm with a 500 mm main beam in 14/8/12 mm plate, 13 t axles and 28 t landing gear. It is specified at 80 t, and 40 t and 60 t versions are built to order on two, three, four or five axles.
Tyres are 12.00R22.5 or 12R22.5 depending on the axle set, on 8.00-20 to 9.0-22.5 rims, with mechanical spring suspension as standard and air suspension available. Axle sets can be 13 t, 14 t, 16 t or 20 t BPW or FUWA, and the king pin is JOST 2 in (50 mm) or 3.5 in (90 mm).
Because the deck and fencing are plain steel, the same trailer switches between cattle, sheep and poultry runs, bagged feed, building materials, pallets and machinery without modification – which is why it is cheaper to run than a dedicated livestock or dedicated flatbed unit.
Tell us what you carry, the payload and the roads you run on, and we will confirm the fencing, deck plate and axle rating.
