Description
A side dump semi-trailer discharges to the side of the deck rather than out of the back. On a mining bench or a site with tight access that means the load goes down beside the trailer instead of behind it, so you are not manoeuvring for a rear tip every cycle.
The body on this unit is 1,600 mm high in 6 mm plate over an 8 mm checked floor, carried on a Q345 high-tensile I-beam welded by automatic submerged arc – an 18 mm x 140 mm top flange, a 14 mm middle flange and a 20 mm x 140 mm bottom flange at 500 mm section height. Overall it measures 13,000 x 2,550 x 3,150 mm on three axles with Fengbao, FUWA or BPW 13 t axle sets.
A 10-leaf 90 x 13 mm spring set carries each axle on mechanical suspension. Braking is a WABCO RE6 relay valve with T30/30 spring brake chambers and 40 L air tanks, with ABS optional. Landing gear is a two-speed heavy-duty 28 t unit and the king pin is 2 in (50 mm) or 3.5 in (90 mm), bolt-in or welded.
The trailer ships with an electric tarpaulin, LED lighting – eight side lamps, two rear lamps and two width lamps – a tool box, spare tyre carrier, crank and shaft head wrench. The chassis is sand blasted, primed once and finished with two top coats.
Loading capacity is 30 t as specified and up to 100 t depending on axle count, and three or four axle versions are built to order. Tell us the material, its density and the haul road and we will size the body and the tipping system.
