In short: most questions overseas buyers send us fall into six groups — checking a supplier is real, choosing the right trailer and knowing what it costs, shipping and documents, payment and lead time, and what happens after delivery. All 64 answers below are written for buyers importing from a Chinese factory. The price, minimum-order and lead-time answers are the ones we are asked for most.

A. Checking a supplier before you pay

How do I verify a semi trailer supplier is legitimate before paying a deposit?

Ask for four documents and check each one independently: the CCC certificate number, the ISO 9001 certificate and its certifying body, an Alibaba factory audit report, and any independent third-party test report. Our CCC certificate number is 2023011101544385 and it is published on our certificates page — check it against the issuing authority’s records rather than taking our word for it. A supplier that cannot name its certifying body is the one to slow down on.

How do I tell a real semi trailer factory from a trading company?

A factory owns the production line: cutting, welding, shot blasting, painting and final assembly happen under one roof, which is expensive to stage and impossible to rent for a visit. Three checks settle it — does the entity named on the contract match the name on the factory gate, can you watch your own unit being welded, and can you be given the steel and plate specifications before you pay. Our plant is at Quanpu Industrial Park, Liangshan County, Shandong, and you are welcome to inspect it.

What documents should a China semi trailer factory be able to produce?

A CCC certificate, an ISO 9001 certificate with the certifying body named, an Alibaba factory audit report, and a third-party test report on the built unit. We publish only the certifications we actually hold, and we send scans and verification references on request.

Can I verify your CCC certificate independently?

Yes. The certificate number is 2023011101544385, it is published on our certificates page, and you can check the number against the issuing authority’s records. Ask us for a scan and a verification reference.

Can I appoint my own inspector before shipment?

Yes. Third-party inspection before shipment is welcome, and SGS or BV inspectors can attend at our factory. You appoint them; we accommodate the inspection.

How do I check trailer quality before shipment if I cannot travel to China?

We photograph and film five production stages — cutting, welding, shot blasting, painting and final assembly — and you can watch any specific detail live by video call. Before the container is sealed we verify dimensions, braking, lights, tyre pressure and torque values and send the photographs. If you want verification independent of us, appoint SGS or BV.

Is buying direct from a factory cheaper than buying from a distributor?

You remove the intermediary’s margin and you keep control of the specification. What factory-direct does not remove is the cost of getting it wrong: a trailer specified for the wrong route or the wrong legal axle load costs more than any distributor’s margin. We would rather tell you when a cheaper model does the same work.

What should I check before placing a bulk semi trailer order?

Four things: the legal gross weight and axle limits your road authority enforces, the payload you actually run per trip, the road surface and gradient on your main route, and how the trailers will be packed and shipped. Send us those four and we will confirm a specification sheet, a price and a loading plan before you commit.

How do I avoid scams when buying semi trailers wholesale?

Never pay a deposit against a photograph alone. Verify the CCC number, name the certifying body on the ISO certificate, pay against a proforma invoice issued by the company that owns the factory, and use a payment route with a paper trail. If a supplier cannot produce documents before a deposit, that is the answer.

What if my order arrives defective?

Report it to your account contact on the day you open the container, with photographs next to the pre-shipment photographs we sent you before the seal — those two sets are what a claim is settled against. The warranty covers twelve months on the frame and running gear, and spare parts ship from stock, so replacement components go out while the claim is being assessed. Technical support runs by WhatsApp or e-mail.

How do I compare semi trailer suppliers before ordering?

Compare them on five points, in this order: can they name their certifying body and certificate numbers; can you inspect your own unit before shipment; do they quote the axle and tyre brands by name; do they tell you when a cheaper configuration will do; and do they answer a technical question in writing. Price is the last item on the list, not the first.

How do I find a supplier I can keep buying from for years?

Test them on a single unit first, then on a repeat order. What you are testing is consistency: whether unit ten is built like unit one, whether the specification sheet survives contact with production, and whether spare parts are still available after delivery. We supply wearing parts and replacement components after delivery and stay with the order through shipping and commissioning.

B. Finding the right trailer, supplier and price

Where can I source semi trailers directly from the factory?

Directly from us — we manufacture at our own plant in Shandong and handle the export ourselves, with no trading intermediary in the chain. Our range covers nine trailer families built to order, and the minimum order is one unit.

Do you sell through Alibaba.com, Made-in-China or Global Sources?

We supply through our Alibaba.com storefront, and that storefront has been through an on-site Alibaba factory audit — a third party’s account of our plant, production capability, quality control and export documentation, rather than our own description of it.

Where can I buy semi trailers in bulk for resale?

Factory direct, built to the specification your market needs. Better pricing applies from five or ten units upward, and fleet buyers can have axle brand, suspension, tyre size and side wall height configured per market rather than taking one fixed catalogue build.

Do you supply small businesses and first-time importers?

Yes. The minimum order is one unit and trial orders are welcome — most first orders are one to three trailers. You do not need drawings, a formal enquiry document or an import agent to start.

What is your minimum order quantity?

One unit. Trial orders are welcome, and better pricing applies from five or ten units upward.

Can I order just one trailer to trial it?

Yes — one unit for a trial order, and most first orders are one to three trailers. The trailer is built against a specification sheet you approve, and you can watch the build by video call or inspect it in person before shipment.

How much does a semi trailer cost?

A 3-axle flatbed semi trailer is typically quoted in the region of USD 9,900 to USD 12,000 FOB Qingdao; a skeletal container chassis around USD 9,000 to USD 10,000; a rear dump trailer from about USD 17,500; a side dump around USD 17,500; a lowbed in the USD 14,000 to USD 18,000 band; a cement mixer around USD 23,000; and a car carrier around USD 28,000. These are indicative bands for a standard specification — the figure follows the axles, tyre and rim brand, main beam section, plate thickness and extras you approve, and every order is confirmed by a written quotation.

Which is cheaper — buying domestically or importing from China?

There is no universal answer, because the comparison turns on four numbers: the factory-direct price, the ocean freight per unit, your duty and clearance cost at destination, and what your road authority legally allows you to load. On freight we remove the guesswork — most orders ship CKD or SKD in a 40HQ container, normally two units per container depending on the model, and where a trailer ships more cheaply in one piece we say so in the quotation and price both ways for your order. The honest comparison is your landed cost per tonne carried, not the invoice price.

How do I get the best price on a bulk order?

Three levers: quantity (better pricing from five or ten units upward), how the order is packed and shipped (we price CKD or SKD container loading against breakbulk and quote the cheaper one for your order), and specification discipline — paying for heavier axle sets and a thicker beam than your route requires is the most common way an order gets more expensive than it needed to be.

Can I buy a semi trailer without a business license?

Whether a private individual can import a commercial trailer is decided by your country’s import rules, not by us — that question belongs with your customs broker, and it is worth asking before you order. What we can state exactly: we export against a proforma invoice with a 30% deposit and the balance before shipment, we supply the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin, and customs clearance at destination is the buyer’s responsibility.

Do you build trailers for private-label and own-brand buyers?

Yes. Colour, logo and markings are configured to your market, and the specification sheet fixes axle brand and count, suspension, tyre and rim size, main beam section, paint colour and extras such as tarpaulin, side walls, twist locks and tool box.

How do I source semi trailers with a limited budget?

Start with the honest question — which trailer does your route and load actually require — because the cheapest trailer that cannot do the job is the most expensive one you can buy. Then use two levers: ship CKD or SKD in containers to lower freight per unit, and keep the specification at what the road legally allows instead of overspecifying the chassis.

Is buying from a China factory safe?

It is as safe as the verification you do. Verify the CCC certificate number against the issuing authority’s records, ask for the ISO 9001 certifying body by name, pay against a proforma invoice from the factory entity, appoint a third-party inspector such as SGS or BV before shipment, and keep the specification sheet both sides signed.

Can I visit the factory before ordering?

Yes. Our plant is at Quanpu Industrial Park, Liangshan County, Jining, Shandong, and buyers inspect the production line, measure their own unit against the approved specification and watch the pre-shipment check. If you cannot travel, a live video inspection covers the same points.

How do I get a quotation?

Send the trailer type, payload, axle configuration, quantity and destination port. Our export team replies with pricing, a specification sheet and the loading plan, normally within 2 working hours.

C. Choosing the trailer and the specification

Which semi trailer type do I need for containers?

Two options. A skeletal container trailer (container chassis) carries dead weight only, stripped to the frame for minimum tare. A container flatbed keeps the twist locks and adds a working deck, so one trailer covers a container box one day and steel, machinery or project cargo the next. If you only move boxes, order the skeleton.

Flatbed or skeleton — which one should I buy?

Ask one question: does the cargo need a deck? Skeleton for containers only, at the lowest tare. Flatbed if you also carry loose or palletised cargo. Our 3-axle flatbed runs 600 mm side walls, 13 t axles and a 40 t payload; the 40 ft skeletal chassis carries 45 t on four twist locks.

How many axles do I need?

Axle count is decided by your legal gross weight and your road surface, not by preference. Work in this order: find the legal gross weight your road authority allows, subtract the trailer tare, compare the result with your target load per trip, then check the axle-group rating against the load it will actually see.

Does adding a fourth axle increase payload?

Only where your legal gross weight rises with the axle count. Where gross weight is capped, the extra axle adds tare and reduces payload. This is the most expensive mistake in trailer specification.

Side dump or rear dump?

Side dump discharges beside the deck instead of out of the back — the right choice where site space is tight and the trailer cannot pull forward, and it is built for sand, aggregate and mining benches. Rear dump tips out of the back and is the usual choice for construction spoil and bulk cargo.

What payload can a 3-axle flatbed carry?

Our 3-axle 40 ft flatbed is rated at a 40 t payload with 13 t axles and 600 mm side walls. The heavy-duty flatbed moves to a reinforced T700 or Q345B main beam with BPW or FUWA axles rated 13 t, 14 t, 16 t or 20 t in two, three or four axle builds.

What is the capacity of your heavy-duty flatbed trailer?

80 t, on a T700 or Q345B reinforced main beam, with genuine BPW or FUWA axles at 13 t, 14 t, 16 t or 20 t, a JOST king pin, 28 t landing gear, WABCO brake valves and optional ABS.

What container sizes can your trailers carry?

20 ft, 40 ft and 45 ft, on high-strength twist locks. Twist lock positions decide which lengths a trailer accepts — tell us the box sizes you actually move.

Which trailer should I use for livestock and grain?

A fence trailer. It carries an open deck with side walls that contain the load, so it suits livestock, fresh produce and bagged or bulk cargo that would spill off an open platform. Ours is rated 80 t on three axles.

Which trailer is right for mining and rock?

A four-axle U-shape rear dump trailer rated 80 to 100 t, on a Q345B beam with a 16 mm upper plate, a 10 mm web and an 18 mm lower plate, with a HYVA hydraulic lifting system. For sand and aggregate on tighter benches, a three-axle side dump discharges beside the deck.

Do you build concrete mixer trailers?

Yes — 12 to 18 CBM drums on 3 or 4 axles, built on a Q345 I-beam, with a 30 t payload on the configuration shown on our product page.

Do you build car carrier trailers?

Yes — double-deck transporters for 7 to 10 passenger cars on 2, 3 or 4 axles, with a hydraulic lifting upper platform and a 25 t payload.

Can the trailer be customised to my road rules?

Yes, that is the normal way we work. Axle brand and count, suspension (mechanical leaf spring standard, air on request), tyre and rim size, side wall height, main beam section, king pin type, ABS, tarpaulin, colour, logo and dimensions are all specified against your roads and your load.

What axle and component brands do you use?

BPW, FUWA and Fengbao axle sets, JOST king pins and landing gear, WABCO brake valves and HYVA hydraulics on the tipping models. We name the brands because that is where downtime usually starts.

What steel do you use for the main beam?

T700 or T750 high-strength steel, with Q345 or Q345B main beams depending on the model. Main beams are welded as full welds rather than stitch welds, with a reinforcing plate at the gooseneck, three secondary beams on each side and high-density support rods; every chassis is shot blasted, primed and finished with two top coats.

D. Shipping, documents and customs

How is a semi trailer shipped to my country?

Two ways. Most orders ship CKD or SKD in a 40HQ container, normally two units per container depending on the model, which keeps the ocean freight per unit down. A single large trailer, or a batch that does not divide neatly into containers, can ship breakbulk as a complete trailer. We price both and quote the cheaper one for your order.

How many trailers fit in a 40HQ container?

Normally two units, depending on the model. If the batch does not divide neatly into containers, the remainder can travel breakbulk as a complete unit.

What do CKD and SKD mean?

CKD (completely knocked down) and SKD (semi knocked down) are container loading methods: the trailer ships in parts inside a 40HQ container to cut ocean freight per unit. Assembly drawings, video and engineer guidance are supplied with the shipment so your team can complete the assembly locally, and the packing list tells you what is in each container.

Which port do you load from?

Qingdao, Rizhao, Lianyungang or Tianjin — whichever suits the sailing you need.

What shipping documents do I receive?

Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin. Weld test reports, coating reports and the technical file are available on request. Tell us at the order stage if your customs broker needs anything else.

Who handles customs clearance and duties at destination?

The buyer. We supply the shipping and certification documents your broker needs, and we help with the market-access documents your country requires.

What trade terms do you quote?

CIF, FOB and EXW. Tell us your destination port and we will quote the term that suits your import setup.

Can you help with the certification my market requires?

We help with the certification documents your market requires, and we publish only the certifications we hold and can produce on request. If your market needs an approval we have not listed, tell us before ordering and we will confirm whether we can meet it rather than guess.

Do you ship to the United States?

No — we do not supply the United States market. Our main markets are Africa and South America, with Central Asia alongside them; the destinations we ship most are Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana, Chile and Venezuela, and Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. If your port sits outside the regions we serve, send it to us and we will tell you straight away whether we can deliver there.

E. Payment, lead time and warranty

What are your payment terms?

30% deposit against the proforma invoice, which starts production, and 70% before shipment. Trade terms are quoted CIF, FOB or EXW.

What is the safest payment method for a first order?

Pay against a proforma invoice issued by the company that owns the factory, and keep the paper trail: a bank transfer with an invoice reference rather than an informal transfer. Never pay a deposit against a photograph alone. We quote CIF, FOB or EXW — tell us your destination port and we will confirm which suits your import setup.

How long is production and delivery?

Commonly 10 to 15 days for a single unit and 25 to 40 days for ten or more, counted from order confirmation. The figure is confirmed per model and quantity in your quotation before you pay anything.

Can I get a sample before a large order?

There is no sample unit for a trailer — the trial order is the sample. The minimum order is one unit, and most first orders are one to three trailers built to your specification sheet, so you can inspect the build by video call or in person before committing to a fleet order.

What warranty do you give?

Twelve months on the frame and running gear, spare parts shipped from stock, and technical support by WhatsApp or e-mail.

How much deposit do I pay?

30% of the invoice value, paid against the proforma invoice, which starts production. The remaining 70% and the shipping terms are written into that same invoice.

Can the MOQ be negotiated?

The minimum order is already one unit, so there is nothing to negotiate downward. What is negotiable is price: better pricing applies from five or ten units upward, and fleet orders can be specified per market.

How fast do you reply to an enquiry?

Within two working hours on a business day. Send the trailer type, payload, axle configuration, quantity and destination port and we come back with a specification sheet, pricing and a loading plan — nothing is charged for it and there is no obligation.

F. After delivery and long-term supply

What happens if something fails during the warranty period?

Report it to your account contact with photographs. The warranty runs for twelve months on the frame and running gear; spare parts and replacement components ship from stock, technical support runs by WhatsApp or e-mail, and for CKD shipments the assembly drawings and engineer guidance stay available through the build.

Do you provide technical support after delivery?

Yes. Technical support runs by WhatsApp or e-mail, spare parts ship from stock, and for CKD shipments we supply assembly drawings, video and engineer guidance so your team can complete the build locally.

Can you supply spare parts after delivery?

Yes. Wearing parts and replacement components are available after delivery, and our export team stays with the order through shipping and commissioning.

Do you offer fleet pricing for repeat orders?

Better pricing applies from five or ten units upward and for fleet purchases. Specification is set per order, so a repeat order can be built to the same specification sheet as the last one.

How do I become a distributor in my market?

Send us the market you cover, the trailer types you expect to move and a first-year volume estimate, and we will put specific terms in writing. Distributor arrangements — territory, annual volume, pricing levels and demo support — are negotiated market by market rather than sold as a standard package, so there is no published price list to apply for. What is fixed: every trailer is built to order, so the stock you carry can be specified per market; it can ship CKD or SKD in 40HQ containers to keep the freight per unit down; the minimum order is one unit; and better pricing applies from five or ten units upward.
